The mission of the Office of the Secretary of the Department of Revenue is to serve the 10 agencies within the department, as well as the governor, the legislature, and the people of the State of West Virginia through principle-centered leadership and the fair, effective, and efficient performance of the department’s duties and responsibilities under the laws of the State of West Virginia.
The office is to lead, oversee and coordinate each of its 10 agencies with the following:
- implementation of agency goals, objectives and policies
- communication among the agencies and the Office of the Governor
- deployment and alignment of resources to advance administration priorities
- development of fiscal policy and generation of accurate fiscal information for revenue forecasting and budgeting purposes
