As of July 17, 2024, the West Virginia Municipal Home Rule Board has approved and accepted four Class IV municipalities into the program. No other Class IV municipalities will be permitted into the program in 2024 pursuant to W.Va. Code §8-1-5a(c)(1).

Plan submissions will be received on a rolling basis for 2025 beginning December 1, 2024. If more than four applications are received for the first meeting in 2025, the Board will conduct a review and ranking process to determine which submissions will be placed on the agenda.
